BLACKHEATH

April 2024

One-half of the couple of this Blackheath home wakes up significantly earlier than the other, so having a separate showering and dressing space would allow them to start their day without worrying about waking the other.

From necessity grew inspiration: a room built to set the tone for the working day - a combination of earthy & grounding natural materials, versatile lighting design and subtle touches of opulence. We separated this spacious family bathroom into "wet" and "dry" zones, divided by a bespoke glass wall with arched double doors that let the sunlight stream throughout the space.

The solid oak vanity and extensive wardrobe doors add warmth; clay plaster walls & ceiling bring texture; antique gold tapware from Lefroy Brooks adding gleaming accents around the room; and the vanity-to-ceiling flush mounted mirror provides a perfect focal point, reflecting the oak doors behind.

The room is delicately lit by mirror mounted Glo-Balls, directional colour matched spotlights and extra extra extra warm under vanity LEDs.
